Outlaw,
There must be a group who does not care what happens to the WT.
this is what i found at anointedjw.org.
i don't know if it's true.
on august 25, 2014, we received the following comment and inquiry: .
Outlaw,
There must be a group who does not care what happens to the WT.
recently i had a conversation with a close witness friend.
i have always viewed him as moderate.
not full j-dub nut bag witness style.
I am against home schooling. We pay for it in taxes. I am surprised Witnesses did not do it generations ago. Talk about isolation.
i just saw this news piece, http://www.onenewsnow.com/legal-courts/2014/08/25/catholic-workers-ordered-to-attend-jehovah%e2%80%99s-witness-services#.u_uee_ldv8e.
the ninth u.s. circuit court of appeals has issued a ruling that workers at a home for the disabled must attend a jehovahs witness worship service with patients who wish to attend.. in 2009, california instructed san gabriel/pomona regional center to have staff escort a jehovah's witness patient to services, but two catholic employees objected and sued on the grounds that their faith requires they only attend catholic services.. brad dacus, founder of pacific justice institute, says it's an interesting case.. we have the rights of employees under title 7, which requires reasonable accommodation for the sincerely held religious beliefs of employees, he says.
in this case, arguably that would mean not requiring these particular employees to have to sit in and attend a jehovahs witness church service.. the attorney says employers should do everything they can to meet employees faith needs, but also cannot forget the needs of the disabled in this situation.
I am certain there is something about terms of employment in the decision. The Roman Catholic employees would not be attending as Roman Catholics. The Mymost important part of the decision was not reported. JWs should take care of their own disabled. Imagine the witness taking care of their own wouled be.
My own gm had a prolonged death. There was no way she could do FS. Guess who took away her JW id card? She cried.
since many years the nov public wt has only one color and no picture on the front cover.. very strange.
so the design department saves time and can go from door to door ...... .

Ddoes anyone know the year that Witnesses finally integrated in the South? Perhaps the South is still segregated.
there seems to be an endless number of ways to show the bible is not devinely inspired but all of it seems so complicated.
anyone know any simple arguements for this?
.
I left the Witnesses b/c of the close mindedness. Many decades later, I end up at JWN, where a core group of atheists take freedom away from believers. I wonder if there isn't a contrary strand of DNA in most members. The Bible is a joke only if one believes as a fundamentalist. Fundamentalists have rights, too. Most atheists remind me of Kruschev banging his shoe at the UN. I don't recall this "hot" headedness a few years ago.
This is no way to win friends and influence people. In my entire life, I never encountered such rude atheists.
please don't take this the wrong way if your battling weight problems, that's not what this thread is meant to talk about.
i am asking this question because jehovah's witnesses claim they have "the best way of life", "god's blessing", "the truth" and are trying to change the habits of healthy people by turning them in to their own makings.
i watched people who were great athletes turn all their muscle in to fat because we would get a elder or circuit overseer make remarks they were spending too much time "working out" and "bodily training is beneficial for little".
The sisters who were foster mothers were obese. I believe it reflected their lifestyle both before and after the Witnesses. Any activity at school had to be kept a secret. My brother won a letter in track. He has cerebral palsy. I admired his example. It was the days before Title IX. Girls had few outlets. The boys had so many. I don't want people who are heavy being social outcasts.
saw the paul mccartney concert last week and it was amazing.
almost 3 hours of non stop music, a mixture of beatles, wings & newer music.
i was smart & planned ahead-- drove to san francisco in the morning to mess around the city & checked into a hotel 6 miles away, got to the concert over 2 hours early.. anyone else attend?.
I had a short fall of cash. In order to get tickets on the East Coast, you had to join his fan club. My heart always pounds during the process of obtaining tickets. I've seen him multiple times in New York. I've paid over one thousand dollars to see him and felt it was worth every penny. Did he perform a bunch of mediocre songs that left the audience to get up and leave for bathroom and food breaks. He is so wonderful and magical. I was locked up as a teenager when they played Shea Stadium. My father could be strange. I could not leave the house. Eleven years old don't typically know how to get to Shea. I was hyperventilating. My father drove me to JFK airport so I could welcome John and Paul. I met Linda Eastman who was selling photos.
I am keeping concert funds in a separate account. Hopefully, he will tour again. The WHO will tour next year, too. I had no idea how good they were when I was young. I am glad you had the chance. Paul gave me a free ticket once.
transglutaminase is often used in the formation of meats -- including expensive cuts of meat, skinless sausages, chicken, and fish -- as well as in the preparation of some dairy products such as some cheese and yoghurt, and in tofu, which vegetarians consume.. transglutaminase, also known as "meat glue" is often created from a coagulating product in the blood of pigs or cattle.
factor viii, which blood product the wts permits, is one such transglutaminase.. has the wts made any public statements regarding the widespread use of this product?
or does its permission to use sub-particles of blood cover the use of "meat glue"?.
It looks like not only Witnesses avoid blood. The ethnic butcher sells blood sausage- and it flies out the store with happy customers. Now I am going to have to be on the hunt for this product.
it's really fascinating to discover the similarities in ancient texts, in another thread howthebiblewascreated pointed out similarities in the epic of gilgamesh and genesis 8... as a naive jw, i feared, and viewed hinduism as a polytheistic religion that essentially worshipped demons.. to my relative surprise, hinduism actually started off as a form monotheism, viewing brahman as the creater and god of the universe.
as judaism transitioned from a strict monotheistic religion to what is now called christianity, simply claiming that god manifests himself as multiple gods, hinduism now does the same.
in any case i'm very naive as to the beliefs of hinduism, so i won't discuss that any more.. comparing two ancient texts : the book of enoch & mahabharata a crazy narrative is found... 87.2 and i raised my eyes again to heaven, and saw in the vision, and behold, there came from heaven beings that were like white men.
This is a long stretch. I read the Hindu book in college Oriental Civilization. No mention of flying missiles. I believe Karen Armstrong wrote a book about the Axial religions parallels.
isn't secrecy the same as occultish when it comes to a religious organization?.
I don't see occultism. Maybe in Russell era literature. I don't know who at Bethel sees the financial info. The lawyers probably do. Keep financial info close is not occultism. It is more to recruit members who are so gullible they will not demand financial information. Most middle class people would demand such information. I have big ears when the financial info for my church is published. Are we gettting good value for the vicar's salary? I thought no. Others did. I volunteered to serve on the financial committee. They were not analyzing the financial info correctly. Ratios are important. I knew there were texts on church accounting at the law library or the main Philadelphia library. They told me not to go look. Everyone has to be the leader with no research. They also did not know the legal standards for PA.
Once the New York Times had to explain to its readers how difficult it was to analyze church cover-ups of pedophile behavior. They don't use anything remotely like regular accounting standards. Consultants in RC financial accounting had to be hired. The secrecy is purposive. What is wrong with Witnesses and Roman Catholics that they accept such secrecy.
